Software developed by SDS helps client win FAA approval to use commercial drones
	6/10/2014 - Using software developed by SDS, Monrovia based Areovironment, Inc. (NYSE:AVAV) recently became the first company licensed by the FAA to fly commercial drone missions within the continential United States. The software developed by SDS is used to automatically plan and execute missions for AV drones, which carry a variety of payloads for 3D mapping of pipelines and other geographic features. The SDS software, which helped AV sign a five-year contract with oil giant BP PLC to use drones at its oil operations in Alaska will soon also by used by AV for other clients in Africa and the middle east.
